Career Achievement Mentoring This program provides ongoing assistance to high school seniors and college youth in the process of achieving their educational and career goals. Such assistance includes providing connections for tax return preparation, annual applications for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Oregon Student Assistance (OSA), new and existing scholarships, employment search, financial management, employment skills training, and more. The program was developed out of the need for our high school seniors and college youth to have ongoing assistance with educational and career goals achievement after participating in our youth career development programs as freshman, sophomores, and juniors. Teens that have completed a successful Internship Program often retain their internship-site advisors as mentors, but not always. Sometimes teens need to be matched with another career-relevant mentor who, ideally, will continue to support the youth through their college years. Youth in this program advise, encourage, and support our younger youth, as well as provide excellent examples of the career and educational success possible. Currently, the Career Achievement Mentoring Program is for our Pre-Internship Program and Internship Program graduates until the age of 25. We are in the process of expanding support services to any interested young person in need of our assistance and will charge a fee for services.
