Our Mission

To provide youth with career knowledge, experiential learning, and continuous support to transform their futures.

We accomplish our mission by supporting youth, and especially youth of color and from lower socio-economic status low-income and minority youth, to achieve their education and career goal through participation in our three career development programs.

Our vision is for all youth to be introduced to life changing experiences that focus on pursuing a meaningful career to become productive and fulfilled adults.

Our Values:
We have personal values for ourselves as strong supporters of the organization, values for working with our youth for their personal development, and values to provide guidance for our work.

Our Personal Values:

Hard Work - Doing everything we can to achieve a goal or dream while staying loyal to ourselves and the organization's mission.

Humor - Finding true joy and laughter in any given situation.

Integrity - Placing a high value on our personal honesty and reliability.

Love - Making others feel validated in being here on earth.

Meaning - Doing something important for ourselves while giving to others.

Our Values For Working With Our Youth:

Being True to Self - Learning what is most important and valuable in teens' lives and encouraging them to go after life no matter what criticism comes.

Freedom to Choose - Providing teens with opportunities to create their own personal path for career and educational success.

Fun - Teaching teens to not take life too seriously and to connect with people in an entertaining way.

Hard Work - Encouraging teens to do everything they can to achieve a goal or dream while staying loyal to themselves.

Honesty - Being truthful with teens so we can speak from the heart.

Personal Growth - Showing teens, through our own behavior, how to expand beyond one's comfort zone.

Wisdom - Helping teens realize the value of learning from every experience and the necessity to continually pursue knowledge to improve oneself.

Our Values That Guide Everything We Do:

Building Positive Relationships - Building positive relationships with teens, their families, partners, and the community.

The Family and Youth - Recognizing the perspectives of the family and youths, and partnering with the larger family unit.

Empowerment - We are all about empowerment in all our activities.

  • Empowering our teens to access and navigate resources.
  • Recognizing that our teens are resourceful and can be empowering to others.
  • Empowering teens to build positive relationships with others.
  • Committing to empowered and ethical communication.

Learning - Believing that people are lifetime “learners”.

Inclusion & Diversity - to serve all our communities with equity and respect by:

  • Committing to embracing our own and others’ cultural experiences.
  • Allowing people to be true to themselves and us.
  • Believing all people are unique and bring value.
  • Recognizing we are stronger because of our differences.
  • Working with people where they are, rather than trying to change them to fit a societal mold.
  • Acknowledging everyone has wisdom that can be imparted to others.
  • Working from the heart.
